UVSB 2008-12-04 Development Meeting Report

UVSB 2008-12-04 Development Meeting Report

We had an unscheduled “emergency” meeting today at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Redlands from 4:30-6:10 PM. I wanted to take some time with our VP and Webmaster, Jo Seno to see what we could do to improve the accessibility of the new website. Here is what we have decided:

  1. Updates on local activity and reports will be on the main page, along with the mission statement on the sidebar. A link to archives of old updates will be on top of the page.
  2. More content links shall be added: Media, Downloads, Resources, and Blogs.
  3. The Blogs link will bring up a page with current parishes which celebrate the old Mass. Each parish shall have its own blogspot blog. We will contact the pastors to try to find volunteers to update the blog’s content. This will be pictures of events at the parish related to the Latin Mass Community. Members of San Secondo parish will be asked to be contributors, since that is our main parish.
  4. The Resources page will have things like: Recommended books, movies, book publishers, articles, pamphlets, sacred art, and polyphony.
  5. The About Us section will have 3 things, (a) history of Una Voce International, (b) history of Una Voce America, and (c) history of Una Voce San Bernardino.
  6. We are debating about having an online store.
  7. Unrelated to the website: For the time being, I will suspend our “Council of Starbucks” meetings which focused on general and various theological, catechetical, and moral teachings of the Church, and replace it with weekly meetings for Una Voce on primarily liturgical issues: symbolism in the Mass, propitiation, atonement, Protestant Revolution and the Mass, etc.

A brother Knight of Columbus has suggested that we hold our meetings at the Council Hall, when there is no other function going on. This may or may not work for us since we also want our discussions to serve an evangelistic function as well with those who can not help but overhear the Catholic theology of the Mass.

Check out a really cool website with a video of the parts of the Low Mass:

Our help is in the name of the Lord; Who made Heaven and Earth. Amen.
